Unresolved Kashmir root cause of tension: Shabir ahmed shah

Release of Qazi Yasir was a drama: Shabbir Shah

Srinagar, July 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DPF), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that the release of religious scholar, Qazi Yasir was a drama and his re-arrest is shameful.

Shabbir Shah in a statement said, it is inhumane and undemocratic on part of the occupation authorities to arrest Qazi Yasir soon after the funeral of his uncle Qazi Aman. “Yasir was barred to attend the other religious rites, which is unfortunate,” he added.

Paying tributes to the deceased Qazi Iman, he said, Qazi Aman’s family is beacon light for all times to come. “Qazi Aman was the brother of Shaheed Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmad who was the alumnus of Al-Azhar University,” he said.

Recounting Qazi Nisar’s courage, the APHC leader said that he was among the bravest freedom fighters of Kashmir.

Kashmir is a political not a territorial dispute: APHC-AJK

Islamabad, July 01 (KMS): The convener of All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has said that Kashmir is a political issue and not a territorial dispute between India and Pakistan.

Mehmood Saghar said in a statement in Islamabad said, “India and Pakistan are parties to the dispute, however as a principal party to the issue, Kashmiris have the right to decide their fate through free, fair and impartial plebiscite promised to them by the international community and the leadership of India. Kashmir issue cannot be resolved bilaterally.”

Condemning the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh’s assertion that Pakistan should ignore Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar said that the Kashmiris would continue their liberation struggle against all odds. “Instead of issuing statements India should accept the ground realities and resolve the core issue of Kashmir peacefully in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people,” the statement said.

Shabbir Shah continues to remain under house arrest

Srinagar, July 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the President of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah continued to remain under house arrest for the third consecutive day, today, in Srinagar.

A spokesman of DFP in a statement said the frequent house arrests and detention of Shabbir Shah reflected as to how much the authorities were afraid of his popularity. He stated that Shabbir Shah was jailed for three years since 2008. “Even after his release on November 5, 2010, he was placed under house arrest for 60 days and was not allowed to offer Juma prayers for 24 Friday,” the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement described as unrealistic the statement of Indian Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh in which he had asked Pakistan to give up the Kashmir issue. He also appealed the international community to intervene into the case of illegally detained ailing Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi and help in her transfer to Kashmir prison.
