Shabir Shah urges India to settle Kashmir dispute
Srinagar, December 05: The DFP president and senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabir Ahmed Shah has urged Indian leadership to accept ground realities and resolve the long outstanding issue of Kashmir peacefully in accordance with the wishes and will of people of Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to a delegation of Indian parliamentarians and civil society members at his residence here on Sunday, Shah maintained that Jammu and Kashmir was an internationally recognized disputed and New Delhi should settle it in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Referring to the contentious history of the subcontinent he said, “India and Pakistan have fought three wars over Kashmir and its resolution is in the best interest of the people of the entire South Asia". The Indian delegation comprised Ram Vilas Paswan, Shahid Siddiqui, Seema Mustafa, Mahesh Bhatt, Professor Kamal Chenoy, Shoaib Iqbal, Gopal Choudary, D Raja, Namo Nageshwar Rao, Danish Ali and Maheshwar Hazari. |
